STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2006-10-31 (Week 44)

* The optional delta-V maneuver at P1 has been cancelled.


INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS
--------------------------------

* All instrument central processors have been powered on

* All activities on schedule completed

* Spacecraft encountered memory scrub anomaly.  Software patch will be uploaded
  before P1.


DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS
-------------------------------------

* The launch was highly accurate.  Successfully completed A1 burn.  Have extra
  fuel margin.

* Continuous coverage ends Wednesday evening (Day 306, A: 6:45 UT, B: 7:00
  UT).  Will have roughly 3 hour tracks.  Many contingency tracks have now been
  cancelled.  Many tracks are sequential, with A first and then B.

* Current telemetry rate is 96 kbps.

* Wednesday, Nov 1, HGA step test added to schedule.  Duration is ~2 hours.
  Sequence of events is

	14:40	Behind HGA step test
	15:00	Ahead IMPACT boom deployment
	17:00	Behind IMPACT boom deployment
	17:30	Ahead HGA step test

* Spacecraft will roll about Sun line near apogee and perigee to keep HGA side
  pointed towards Earth

* Engineering burn #2 scheduled for Nov 2.  FDF will need several days to
  evaluate.

* Starting Nov 1, transitioning to 360 kbps.  Will stay at that rate except for
  maneuvers when the rate will be 96 kbps.

* Early Operations Schedule has been modified to use Day-of-Year instead of
  Mission Day numbers.  Available on SDS.

* Maneuvers P2 and A3+ are deterministic.

* EA mode test on Monday (310) on Ahead spacecraft only.  Will take place on
  outboard track, 3 hours after perigee, about 30 minutes after BOT, around
  14:00 UT.

	- SWAVES, PLASTIC, and SECCHI will allow EA mode to automatically shut
          them off.  IMPACT will power off HV first.

	- Have 13 hours of track time.  Expected to be 6 hour test.  Should be
          able to get SSR data from perigee downloaded during pass.

	- Decontamination heater bus will be off.  Will be restarted by command
          as part of recovery.  Survival heaters come on.

	- Following EA mode will be functional test of SECCHI Ahead.

* Schedule clarification, day 308:  PLASTIC does not need exclusive commanding.

* SWAVES burst input to IMPACT has been disabled.  Awaiting updated SWAVES
  software.

* Weekly schedules will be out soon.

* SECCHI functional testing next week, 3 days each for Ahead and Behind.

* Day 315, first enabling of GT use, Ahead.

* Change request for SECCHI decontamination heaters, early tomorrow morning.
  Want two hours where turn off macro and leave power on, to evaluate system
  behavior.  Test first Ahead, followed by Behind.  Ask if different macros can
  be implemented for Ahead and Behind--answer was yes.
