STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2008-11-25 (Week 48) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * The DNS/DHCP servers at APL will be undergoing maintenance on Dec 13. Computers should continue to be accessible by IP address, but access by name may not be available while the maintenance is going on. The duration of this event is expected to be 7 hours, but the start time is not yet known. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spacecraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 47 * A power glitch occurred at station 25 on day 322 (Nov 17) at 13:47 in the middle of the Ahead pass. All data was recovered. * On day 323 (Nov 18), the station 25 exciter went red, and was unavailable for several days. This resulted in several changes in the pass schedule. The Ahead track originally scheduled for day 325 (Nov 20) was replaced with a shorter track on station 15. Similarly, the Ahead track for day 326 (Nov 21) was replaced with a track station 14. Since station 14 is a 70 meter dish, it was decided to switch to 720 kbps to ensure that all data was downlinked. The Behind track on day 326 (Nov 21) was switched to a shorter track on station 15. * Station 45 lost frame lock due to heavy rain during the Ahead pass on day 324 (Nov 19), resulting in the loss of several minutes of SSR data. * The station 15 transmitter went offline during the Behind pass on day 326 (Nov 21), resulting in the loss of 3 minutes of SECCHI data. * Nine telemetry frames were lost during the Behind pass on station 45 on day 325 (Nov 20). This resulted in the loss of one minute of SECCHI data. * The average daily downlink was 6.6 gigabits on Ahead, and 7.3 gigabits on Behind. Week 48 * The 12th momentum dump was successfully carried out on Behind on Monday, day 329 (Nov 24). * Thanksgiving is on November 27. * There will be realtime pass for Ahead tomorrow (Nov 26). The Behind pass is concurrent, and it was requested that realtime commanding also be opened up for Behind. Week 49 * The aphelion SECCHI stepped calibration roll on Ahead is scheduled for 14:50 UT on Dec 2. The time has been changed to reflect a changed DSN schedule. Actual aphelion is on day 350 (Dec 15), but the roll maneuver has been moved earlier for better momentum wheel speeds. The following track starts at 18:20 UT. Week 50 * The DNS/DHCP servers at APL will be undergoing maintenance on Saturday, Dec 13. See the announcement above for details. Week 51 * Schedules are not yet available for this week. A SECCHI stepped calibration roll on Behind, and a momentum dump on Ahead are planned for this week. Other * There was some discussion about the problems that the SSC has had communicating with the MOC. It was mentioned that the MOC also has been having problems accessing the SSC website. Both of these problems have since been resolved.
