STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2013-03-05 (Week 10) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * On Tuesday, March 12th, at 3 PM and possibly through 10 AM on Wednesday, March 13th, connectivity to the STEREO MOC will be unavailable due to a RAID replacement upgrade on the instrument team external MOC workstations. This time frame is outside of schedule tracks, so receipt of real-time telemetry will not be impacted. Instrument teams will not be able to send commands to the MOC during this maintenance period. After the maintenance has been completed, a notification will be sent to advise instrument teams that they can reconnect to the STEREO MOC. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 09 (Feb 25-Mar 3) * On day 057 (Feb 26), NOAA antenna testing with the space weather turbo 1/6 encoded downlink was conducted on Ahead at 1100z and 2030z. This test was partially successful, except for the Japanese station. * On day 056 (Feb 25), IMPACT conducted real-time commanding on Ahead at 1426z for the SEP FSW patch to reduce the SIT telemetry packet rate from 12 to 1-2 packets per minute during sun quiet periods. * On day 056 (Feb 25), during the DSS-55 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1711z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. See DR #M107120 for more information. * On day 058 (Feb 27), during the DSS-63 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 1740z through 1744z due to the antenna brakes being set. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 3528 frames of SSR data. See DR #M107124 for more information. * On day 062 (Mar 3), during the DSS-14 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 1946z through 2015z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 2913 frames of SSR data. See DR #G113745 for more information. The master equatorial server was switched from precision to encoder mode, which required time to optimize the new mode. * The average daily SSR playback volume during the week was 4.5 gigabits for Ahead, and 4.8 gigabits for Behind. Week 10 (Mar 4-10) * Daylight savings time in the U.S. begins on Sunday, Mar 10. * Testing was successfully carried out with the ESA Malargue station 84 for Ahead this morning (Mar 5). The Malargue station was be the primary during the pass, including uplink, and was shadowed by station 55. There was a small problem at the beginning of track getting telemetry from the SOE, but this was resolved after rebinding. * The station 65 pass for Behind yesterday (Mar 4) between 14:15 to 17:25 UT was affected by heavy rain at the station, resulting in many lost frames. Telemetry was dropped completely for the last few minutes of the track. * Testing will be carried out with the ESA Malargue station 84 for Behind on Saturday, Mar 9.
