STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2017-01-24 (Week 4) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally on the main lobe of the high gain antenna. * Attempts to recover Behind have transitioned back to a monthly schedule. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 3 (Jan 16-22) * On day 016 (Monday, Jan 16), the MOC resumed operations on the primary command workstation after hard disk replacement and testing. The instrument teams were notified as some needed to reconfigure to use a different real-time stream, #106, to continue receiving real-time telemetry. * On day 019 (Thursday, Jan 19), during the DSS-25 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 2035z through 2110z due to weather. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 6 frames of real-time and SSR data. See DR# G117766 for more information. * On day 019, the 95th momentum dump on Ahead was executed successfully at 2100z, which imparted an estimated delta V of 0.094 m/sec. This was the 14th momentum dump that did not use the IMU. After thruster operations completed, there was a 0.63 degree of roll angle error which was dampened out over the next 9.8 minutes. Fine pointing stabilized 2.6 minutes after completion of the momentum dump. * On day 020 (Friday, Jan 20), during a 2.5 hour support for Behind with DSS-14, 260 commands were transmitted during the support. No carrier was detected by either the DSN station or the radio science receiver team after attempting to power on the TWTA for 30 minutes. Transitioned to battery recovery operations for the remainder of the support which consists of repeatedly sweeping a 3 kHz uplink range and sending commands for IEM switched power and PDU 1553 interface bus off. * On day 021 (Saturday, Jan 21), during a 3 hour support for Behind with the 34m station DSS-26 using the 80 KW transmitter to minimize 70m contentions, 320 commands were transmitted during the support. * On day 022 (Sunday, Jan 22), during a 3.5 hour support for Behind with DSS-14, 380 commands were transmitted during the support. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 4.8 Gbits during this week Week 4 (Jan 23-29) * Ahead has 9 passes during the week, and overall coverage is now nominal. There are currently six tracks at 720 kbps, one at 240 kbps, and two at 160 kbps. * Behind has no passes during the week. Week 5 (Jan 30-Feb 5) * Ahead has 12 tracks during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are five passes at 720 kbps, one at 360 kbps, three at 240 kbps, and three at 160 kbps. Two of the 160 kbps passes are ESA Malargue passes on Jan 30,31. * Behind has no passes during the week. Week 6 (Feb 6-12) * On Monday, Feb 6, the MOC will be loading a G&C parameter to RAM to select the B thruster set (rather than A) for autonomous momentum dumps. * A 1.6 hour project interface test with Ahead using station 26 is scheduled for Sunday, Feb 12, 22:25-00:00 UT. There will be no SSR playback or instrument commanding during this pass. The telemetry rate will be 240 kbps. * Ahead has 8 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are six passes at 720 kbps, one at 240 kbps, and one at 160 kbps. * There are no passes for Behind during the week. Week 7 (Feb 13-19) * A 1.5 hour project interface test with Ahead using station 63 is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb 14, 15:15-16:45 UT. There will be no SSR playback or instrument commanding during this pass. The telemetry rate will be 720 kbps. * The 96th momentum dump on Ahead is scheduled for Friday, Feb 17, with ignition at 19:30 UT. This will be the 15th dump without using the gyros. * Ahead has 9 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are seven passes at 720 kbps, and two at 240 kbps. * Recovery attempts for Behind are scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Feb 17-19. The first two passes are for battery recovery, and will use the 80 kW transmitter on station 26. The carrier recovery track using station 14 on Sunday will include the radio science receiver. Week 8 (Feb 20-26) * On Monday, Feb. 20 G&C Memory Object Release 1.3.5 will be loaded to G&C EEPROM. * Ahead has 11 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are eight passes at 720 kbps, and three a 160 kbps. * There are no passes for Behind during the week. Week 9 (Feb 27-Mar 5) * Ahead has 11 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are ten passes at 720 kbps, and one at 240 kbps. * There are no passes for Behind during the week. Week 10 (Mar 6-12) * Daylight Savings time begins at 07:00 UT on March 12. * Ahead has 9 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are seven passes at 720 kbps, one at 240 kbps, and one at 160 kbps. * There are no passes for Behind during the week.
